Nashville or bust!

We start our road trip on Sunday. Nashville here we come. I'm hoping to get some great pictures while we're gone, listen to some great music, see some mighty scenes, and run into some nice people. While we are there we will even be scoping out the area for a possible relocation in the near future if our house ever sells. We'll need 2 jobs in the Payroll arena, a small home in the mountains, and room enough for two average sized adults, one part time teenage resident, and at least three dogs.

It's our backwards honeymoon trip; meaning we won't be married until 7/19, but we are going on our honeymoon now as that's when the music is playin! We both always wanted to go to the annual CMA music fan festival and thought we'd get hitched there while we were at it and then thought better of it and decided to do it back home in Jersey so the "familia" could witness this heartfelt occasion. I'll get back to you later on whether or not this was a good idea.

Anyway, it's all road maps, duffle bags, laundry in preparation, coolers, dog sitter planning and anticipation right now while we bust our humps at work to have everything covered while we are gone. After all we do still need to be paid....even when we aren't there to process the payroll.

More pictures!

Here's a picture of the flowers I got Aline for her birthday. They are still going even though they are over a week old.

Then we have pictures of the "other" dogs. Simba the Chow Chow who Aline has had since she was a teenager and Pumba the Pug, who I have written about before.....and not in a good way I might add. Damn Pug!

HELP! First picture with the new camera

This is my first picture with it.

Ok, we bought this nifty new camera to take with us to Nashville. Problem is I don't know how to work it yet. We got what I think is a pretty good camera, at least that's what the guy told us when he sold it to us. It's a Canon Powershot S5 IS. So the race is on to figure out how to use it well enough to get the pictures it's capable of so that when we come back we can make a slide show for our wedding reception.

Cowtown Cowboy Outfitters

Got these nice Ariat boots at Cowtown Cowboy Outfitters last Sunday. Really rugged, but really comfortable. Been wearin em to work all week. Living in NJ is really a bummer sometimes, ok most times. We don't have enough of these places to find good western wear. We went shopping for some clothes for our trip to Nashville. We leave a week from this Sunday. Was a fine trip to Cowboy Outfitters, even though they are about two hours+ away from our home. They also have a real rodeo, real by NJ standards anyway, across the street every Saturday night starting the end of May. We'll be making another trek to it in the future. Special thanks to the nice ladies that were at Cowtown Cowboy Outfitters for putting up with us !! Don't know the nice lady's name that helped us, but she was great, while we tried on like every boot in the place. Go there if your in the south Jersey area. Good People! We didn't get there until about 3:30 and they closed at 5. Many dollars later we closed the place. We found the awesome boots pictured, another pair of black boots for the wedding, a couple pair of wranglers, a nice sleeveless shirt for Aline to wear in Nashville, a really nice unity candle with cowboy and cowgirl on it for the wedding, two boot mugs for the beer at the reception and two champagne glasses with the same cowboy and cowgirl as the unity candle. We could have spent the day there we were having so much fun. We packed up all our stuff, climbed on our horses and rode off into the sunset. Ok, Ok, we jammed all the stuff in the Jeep Wrangler, got on the NJ Turnpike and drove back to our house in Laurence Harbor, but in my head we were on those horses Ok? Look out Nashville.

Winners of the meter opinion survey!

Tied....The One Touch UltraSmart and the Accu-Chek Aviva.

Reasons had less to do with accuracy or preference and more to do with insurance coverage in most cases. Sad to know that most of us depend on what the insurance company covers rather than which one is most accurate or does the best job for us. I'll bet the insurance companies don't really care which is most accurate or which will help us all have better control in the end. They more than likely cover the test strips for the meter company that makes it "most beneficial" for the insurance company to make their strips the "Preferred".

The good news is that most are pretty satisfied with their meter except for test strip costs. Wonder how we'd all feel if we actually got a meter that was accurate, rather than being close to accurate(20% give or take). And dream of dreams....how about if we weren't raped for the costs of test strips for those of us with either high deductibles or no coverage.
